Due to the rising number of antisemitic threats and attacks, Jewish institutions have increased security. Some of the costs are subsidized by the DHS/FEMA’s NSGP (since 2004) and state-level grants. Still, the funding isn’t always enough, leading some to nickname the remaining essential security costs an “antisemitism tax.”
Resolves YES if status quo largely continues.
Resolves NO if any of the following occur:
Congress passes significant increases in security grants (similar to this proposal).
My friends in Jewish advocacy organizations confirm that security needs have significantly decreased.
The several Jewish institutions which I visit at least monthly have visibly returned to pre-October security standards.
