Nvidia introduced the RTX 4000 series of Gaming GPUs last year with the RTX 4090 and 4080, both of which boasted impressive performance at a premium price. More budget-oriented cards, however, which were released this year, bolster barely any performance increase compared to their predecessors and as a consequence have had poor reviews as well as lackluster sales. The question now is whether Nvidia will cut prices in response or stay firm and instead continue focussing on its booming business with AI chips.
