Resolution criteria
This market will resolve based on official product announcements made by Apple in October 2025. Each answer option will resolve YES if Apple officially unveils a product matching the description via a press event, a press release published on Apple's official Newsroom website (news.apple.com), or a significant update to Apple's official product pages on apple.com. Otherwise, the option will resolve NO.
Background
Apple frequently makes product announcements in October, historically focusing on updates to its Mac and iPad lineups. In recent years, these announcements have varied between full keynote events and quiet releases via press releases and website updates. As of mid-October 2025, several reports, including those citing Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, indicate that Apple is expected to announce a range of new products this week through press releases and online store updates, rather than a traditional event.
Specific product rumors for October 2025 include:
M5 iPad (any): An updated iPad Pro featuring the M5 chip is widely anticipated, with leaked unboxing videos reportedly confirming its existence.
M5 MacBook Pro: A base 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 chip is expected to be announced, although higher-end M5 Pro and M5 Max variants are rumored for early 2026.
New Apple Vision product: An updated Apple Vision Pro, potentially featuring an M5 chip, improved comfort, and a new color option, is also rumored.
New Apple TV hardware: A refresh of the Apple TV 4K, possibly with an A17 Pro chip and enhanced Wi-Fi capabilities, is rumored, especially following Apple's recent rebranding of "Apple TV+" to "Apple TV."
New HomePod product: An updated HomePod mini, potentially with an S9 chip or newer and improved wireless features, is anticipated.
New AirTag product: The AirTag 2 is rumored to launch in October, expected to offer a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip for better range and enhanced privacy features.
Considerations
The method of announcement (e.g., press event, press release, website update) will not impact resolution, provided the announcement is official from Apple.
For the "M5 iPad (any)" option, any new iPad model (e.g., iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad mini) explicitly announced with an M5 chip will cause this option to resolve YES.
For the "M5 MacBook Pro" option, only a new MacBook Pro explicitly announced with an M5 chip (including M5 Pro, M5 Max) will cause this option to resolve YES. Some reports suggest that M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro variants may be announced separately in early 2026.
