This will resolve based on the total number of people that cross the Rafah border as reported by a major publication, including the New York Times, Al Jazeera, BBC or another based on my discretion. If multiple numbers are reported, I will choose one based on my discretion. Only one outcome will be chosen. For example, if the number reported is 60,000 only "50,001 - 100,000" will be chosen.
Example article: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/11/1/egypt-opens-rafah-crossing-for-limited-number-of-gaza-patients
Current estimate is 8,000-10,000, by the Border Authority of Gaza:
@CarmelHadar What scenariodo you envision in which egypt would allow more than 100k to cross?
@Shai the scenario that they get paid for it enough money.
This is already happening.
@Shump There are some estimates, such as: https://news.sky.com/story/the-price-of-freedom-the-company-making-millions-from-gazas-misery-13081454
@CarmelHadar Those companies are not operating legally. They are brokers who pay off Egyptian officials. It's not enforced though. A-Sisi encourages this kind of corruption.
@Shump
well its funny to define this thing as illegal.
i bet that most of the money goes directly to the Egyptian government (500 million dollars).
I see your point cuz its against the law of Egypt, but still, its absurd. the guy who manages the company is a friend of a-sisi.
anyway, it must be more then 100K now, even tho it probably will stop now when IDF got the Rafah Cross
