At a score of 80 with 62 reviews; I think it might be possible with 4-5 very positive reviews that might come late it might get pushed up to 86?... and since it scored higher than I predicted with critics (using Clueless as a guess) I will sell some of my shares since I got that much wrong.

Way underrated! The last (and only) two movies Gerwig directed+wrote got >85 on Metacritic -- Little Women (91) and Lady Bird (93). Baumbach is more of a mixed bag but he did direct+write Marriage Story (94) recently.

I am hyper bearish on this movie and have been telling my friends it'll be huge since it was first announced. The only reason I'm not betting more is because I sold all my Mana for donations back when we thought that feature was gonna go away.

predicted YES

@LucasSato Is it going to be like Frozen? I mean, are they going to flip the script in terms of expectations?

@LucasSato Just learned its opening opposite of Oppenheimer. Couldn't have two movies with more drastically different source material.

It being compared to Clueless, I looked up Clueless Metacritic score (68). In general I don't think it will beat Clueless so I am betting NO . https://www.metacritic.com/movie/clueless

@parhizj I don't have extra details on this movie in particular and am just going off my understanding that Gerwig and Baumbach are pretty serious filmmakers. I just don't expect they'd make the silly fun cash grab movie that people imagine when they think of Barbie. I think that the first teaser trailer being just one big nod to Kubrick suggests as much, too.

So I expect that deciding to make a Barbie movie was a big decision for both of them and that they put a lot of thought into it, and that they know exactly where they want to go with it. Also, Gerwig is incredible at adding depth to her characters, e.g. Amy March in Little Women. So I'm expecting a pretty nuanced movie.
