I will run the query again in 1 week and if the sum of past 0-7 days is lower than the past 7-14 days sum, this resolves YES. Otherwise, if the number has gone up or is exactly the same, NO.

@SavioMak It's been collectively pretty much determined the ROI is not worth it, at which point stagnation is inevitable. Besides it's easy to empirically determine there are rarely any boosted markets on the home page lately.
I periodically buy a small amount of ads or boosts or whatever the current system is. Yesterday I spent 100 for "20 clicks" and got 1 bettor and no momentum meaning _lootboxes_ have dramatically better ROI. The current boost system simply isn't worth it at small scales.
I suspect it's worse than that, though. Are boosts claimable via API? My analytics for the market says I got 0 impressions out of it, so either the analytics are down or bots are eating up boosts.

@Stralor A system I could see replacing this could be one called like a "boost bet" where a browsing bettor can use the YES or NO arrow to make a free standard 10 mana bet on that market. Hell, maybe the arrows change to sparkly purple or something.
Bids for these boosts would have to be higher, of course, and it's worth considering how to make sure that they don't simply withdraw that mana immediately. It's a locked-in bet? No further trading on that market for 24h? Even if not, it's no worse than the current system, guarantees markets increase liquidity and gain trading bonuses (important for small market creators!), and creates more interaction across the breadth of manifold.
The remaining challenges are whether these boosts stay economical for market creators while still being a net sink for the economy and how much these might skew markets when people aren't as knowledgeable in a topic. Hopefully these are somewhat mitigated by the limited 10-mana-only format.
I claimed the boost and spent no mana, you're welcome NO bettors
Edit: I meant to say YES bettors, wasn't trying to be sarcastic haha
I was tired when I wrote that
@ian I did, with 500 mana! We should show boosts in the "timeline" view (and rename it that from "trades" view lol)
If it decreases, imo, its less because of how i think about boost (its effectiveness can be improved ofc), but rn its more about saturation of both markets and users - dont wanna keep boosting my markets to the same users - and dont wanna keep seeing the same boosted market again again even when im not interested in it.
