I'd been trudging through some professional and personal inertia, and thought this might be a good way to motivate myself to break through it. So, I've created a blog at www.houstoneuler.com.
A lot of what I want to accomplish in my life necessitates being able to express it clearly to others, which is why I've made multiple attempts to start a blog in the past. Unfortunately, for various reasons, I've always given up and deleted what I've posted, or not posted at all after going through the steps of setting it up.
2024 offers another opportunity for change, and I'm creating this market to provide some external motivation towards maintaining that change.
There are a lot of things I want to write about, like design, politics, economics, startups, law, philosophy, etc., and I hope by setting a low bar that can be cleared regularly, I'll have a habit that can positively spillover into other areas of my life.
So, my goal is to blog every single day of the year, which will be the only bet I place initially. All other options, which include blogging 0-365 days in 2024, fall under the "Other" answer, and additional options (if needed) will be broken off by a single day until the market is resolved.
For example, if I miss a day, making my initial goal unattainable, I will create an additional answer for 365 days, split off from "Other", allowing myself to bet on that next highest option, because that will help maintain the motivation to keep blogging daily.
I will consider every day to begin and end at 12 A.M. EST, and my posts will be timestamped by WordPress for verification.
NOTE: The minimum requirement for a post is 50 words.

Hey all, I've decided I don't want to do this anymore. I'm happy with how much progress I've made, but the task of writing every day has started to become annoying, because it feels like a waste to invest in writing a longer post.
I'll keep writing, but nowhere near the pace of 366 posts a year. I'm going to resolve this as "YES" for Other, and "NO" for every single day. It seems this will hopefully just affect the bots, so hopefully nobody will be too upset.
As it seems the only betting in my favor is the Manifold bot, I'm going to update the description to raise the bar slightly for what qualifies as a post.
After posting for the first time, it doesn't seem right for me to be able to publish blank posts, so I'm going to raise the minimum to fifty words.
While I still reserve the right to edit my posts, and can post 50 words of placeholder text, I will only allow myself a 24-hour grace period to replace that placeholder with an actual post.
The main reason I'm making these changes is because I'm using this market as motivation, but the current bar is so low, that it doesn't really offer the opportunity to accomplish a difficult challenge.
The hope is that these updated qualifications will drop the Every Single Day answer into the low single digits, allowing me to bet on myself in a way that would pay off significantly if I'm able to stick to my goal.
@houstonEuler On second thought, there is no grace period. I have to publish 50 words of text every single day, for the "Every single day (366)" answer to resolve YES.
