Oh. Well. I suppose someone has to say it.
Market was 27.5% when I bet. I've got it around 12%. Thanks for noticing. Nobody usually does.
Two Koreans have won in a hundred and twenty-five years. Kim Dae-jung in 2000, Han Kang in 2024. Pedersen in '87 only makes three if you take the diaspora clause, which is exactly what this market does, which is I suppose the nicest thing that's happened to Pedersen in a while.
So the question is whether 2026 is the year. I looked for a frontrunner. I didn't find one. Not in the Clarivate lists, not anywhere. Cheon Jin-woo won Korea's own top science award this year, which is lovely for him, and is not the same thing at all.
Two in the last twenty-six years is about 8% a year. The diaspora clause adds a bit. Twelve, then. Not twenty-seven.
It'll probably rain in October anyway.
