I pick at scabs compulsively and think it is quite unlikely that I will resist. My normal time between a scab becoming salient to me and picking it loose is ~1h, even when I am actively trying for much of that hour to un-notice it.
However I have never tried prediction markets as a way to stop picking. I am going to buy a bunch of YES with the expectation of losing mana, and try using said mana as motivation to not pick until Friday.
If at any point a scab becomes detached through picking action in the next five days, I will resolve NO. If it has not resolved NO by 3pm Friday, September 22, I will resolve YES.

Tuesday update: the pimple has raised a scabrous dome in defense against me. I have tried diverting the picking impulse into a tracing impulse, i.e. I try to derive enjoyment from touching the dome itself without trying to uncap it from my skin. Success is partial: the southwest corner has come loose, and presents to a further deranging temptation to the fingertip.
