As the owner of a Belgian women's team, Lefevere is naturally interested in Kopecky's services, but he indicates that AG Insurance-Soudal will not be the next team for the world champion. "It was a goal to get Lotte to our team, but I don't believe Lotte is out of contract," he reportedly said with a grin. "Do I know more? Yes, I think I do. But as a rider, you're always out of contract."
Manager Dries Smets of Lotte Kopecky denies this in conversation with the Belgian newspaper. "She still hasn't signed a contract for next season and is therefore still free. And almost every team in the women's peloton has already inquired," Smets said.
