Pop singer Sky Ferreira announced her second studio album, Masochism, in 2014. It has been scheduled for release in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2022. She has released two singles: "Downhill Lullaby" (2019) and "Don't Forget" (2022).
It is difficult to piece together a timeline for Masochism. Luckily someone else has done it for us on ATRL. Some highlights:
(2016) February 16th - In an interview with Dazed Magazine, Sky announces that she is still recording Masochism but that it is due for release in the summer. (This never happens)
(2017) January 6th - Sky tweets that there is no album delay as she never announced a release date for Masochism.
(2019) December 30th - Sky tweets that she "can't wait to start the decade off right", suggesting an early 2020 release for new music. (This never happens)
(2021) December 19th - Stereogum included Masochism as their 4th most anticipated album of 2022. Sky responds on her Instagram stories and says “It happens every year but it’s actually coming out this time”, implying Masochism will be released in 2022. (This never happens)
This market will resolve when Masochism is released OR if Sky states that Masochism will not be released, and does not backtrack within a year. Sky releasing a second studio album that is not Masochism will not count.
