Anthropic released Claude in March 2023, and Claude-2 in July 2023. Will they release Claude-3 by July 1, 2024?
If the next main Claude model has a different naming scheme, this will resolve yes as long as it is clearly intended to be the next major update to Claude (e.g. Claude 2.1 or Claude 2.5 would not count).
