A multitude of Sig P320 (U.S. military designation M18) pistols have reportedly gone off without a trigger pull over the last 10 years. Sig has, so far, categorically denied any manufacturing fault that could lead to a discharge without a trigger pull. After Sig's recent statements, however, an USAFGSC personnel reportedly died of his injuries sustained from a P320/M18 going off without a trigger pull, in its holster. Several YouTubers have also managed to recreate the gun going off without a trigger pull [1][2].
There are numerous lawsuits against Sig in litigation, including by several police officers and federal agents, and likely dozens if not hundreds on the way, including rumors of several class-action lawsuits.
Should the the P320 face a forced total recall, including the military-issued M18 pistols, Sig would likely not survive.
