If Trump is stupid enough to publicly propose such a deal, then he removes any and all chance of it happening.

The quid pro quo deal of pardon in exchange for Trump not attempting another coup (or whatever shenanigans he would otherwise get up to this time) is what would never be disclosed.

I was saying that if Trump is stupid enough to publicly propose such a deal (on social media, no doubt), then it would kill any prospect of a deal.

The public backlash of Biden making such a deal would be ... incredible is an understatement. It's one thing for Biden to grant a Trump a pardon in the interest of healing the country or whatever. People will be absolutely pissed, but they'd get over it.

But if Biden were to pay off Trump? There's no way anyone on the left would stand for it.
