@mods This should resolve by now.
I actually think it's a YES (I don't hold any shares either way)
from Wikipedia
Beginning at 1:48 a.m. local time, sirens and alarms went off continuously for 30 minutes across the Ankawa neighborhood of Erbil, Iraq, with loudspeakers at Irbil airport's military base repeating the word "bunkers".[66] Iranian State Television issued reports of explosion noises throughout Tehran. Two Arab officials stated that the attack had appeared to target a weapons depot and a military office or barracks.[63] Explosions were also reported in the city of Karaj, located just west of Tehran,[64] and near Imam Khomeini International Airport, Mashhad, Kermanshah, and Zanjan.[19][67][68][69][70][excessive citations] Explosions were also heard near Damascus, Syria.[71][72] Al Jazeera posted a video showing Iran's air defense activate in the skies of Tehran.[73] Al Araby TV showed damage from Israeli strikes to a military drone factory in Shamsabad, south of Tehran.[74] Iran later confirmed that strikes had also occurred in Ilam province and Khuzestan.[75]
Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Israel had targeted an Iranian UAV factory as well as a secret base in Tehran. It was also reported that Russian made S-300 Iranian batteries as well as ballistic missile sites were attacked.[76]
@FergusArgyll Tehran can refer to either the province or the city. Is there any evidence the attacks were within the actual city limits?
@AndrewHebb Air defences on outskirts seem to have been hit, not exactly city limits, and air launched ballistic missiles (if used) are at the limit of definition of “air strikes”.
@AndrewHebb it appears the first wave was all in Tehran. The second included other regions. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/10/26/condemnation-calls-for-restraint-world-reacts-to-israeli-strikes-on-iran
@AndrewHebb Absolutely. There are factories inside Tehran the city that were hit. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cgr0yvrx4qpo
@datachef The article doesn't say anything in the city of Tehran was hit.
It says there were targets in the province of Tehran and that two bases, one south of Tehran and one east of Tehran, were hit.
@AndrewHebb also there are videos from inside Tehran where you can hear the explosions. If you watch the BBC broadcast.
@datachef The explosions might be heard inside the city even if they occurred outside the city. They're also not necessarily anything being hit on the ground in the city. Iran intercepted some missiles. So far, no one has confirmed anything within city limits getting hit.
@AndrewHebb can we find a map with all of the targets overlayed? Maybe open the market back up until then? @mods
@datachef What would you like mods to do? You can open this market yourself, by changing the close date!
edit: I guess maybe it was resolved early and since re resolved. I think it should have been removed from the mod queue lol
@Gen I think it still needs to be re-opened because we still don't know whether the attacks were within city limits.
