Background

The "Race to World First" (RWF) is a prestigious competition where top World of Warcraft guilds compete to be the first to complete a new raid on Mythic difficulty. The Liberation of Undermine is the second raid of the War Within expansion, featuring 8 bosses culminating with Chrome King Gallywix.

Team Liquid won the previous RWF for Nerub-ar Palace (the first raid of The War Within), while Echo came in second. These two guilds have dominated the RWF scene in recent years, with Method historically being another strong contender.

Resolution Criteria

This market will resolve to the guild that achieves the world first kill of the final boss (Chrome King Gallywix) on Mythic difficulty in the Liberation of Undermine raid. Kills using major exploits will not count. If a guild not listed in the options wins, this market will resolve to "Other".

Considerations

  • The RWF typically lasts 1-2 weeks, depending on raid difficulty

  • Different regional reset times can impact progression (NA realms get access before EU)

  • RWF guilds typically run Normal/Heroic difficulty splits before attempting the Mythic difficulty. So early leads are not necessarily indicative of the ultimate winner.

  • Update 2025-03-05 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): Major Exploit Clarification:

    • Definition: Game breaking exploits, such as one-shotting the boss or glitching it to bypass key mechanics, are considered major exploits.

    • Legitimate Kill Condition: If Blizzard does not revoke the kill or ban the players, the kill will be treated as valid.

How is "major exploit" defined?

@heitapois Game breaking exploits like one-shotting the boss or glitching the boss so it doesn't do any mechanics.

As long as Blizzard doesn't revoke the kill or ban the players, then the kill will be considered legit

@heitapois I added that because there's already been an exploited kill of Gallywix https://raider.io/liberation-of-undermine/global-coverage#post-488001

@cowgoesmoo Okay, that makes sense, thanks for clarifying!
