The University of Austin, Texas (UATX), is a proposed private university with trustees and advisors including Niall Ferguson, Bari Weiss, Tyler Cowen, Richard Dawkins, Jonathan Haidt, and Larry Summers.
UATX plans to welcome its first cohort of undergraduate students in Fall 2024, however, "UATX can't officially be called a university, or operate as one, until it has been authorised by the state. Once this happens, it can start taking applications for the first undergraduate class of 100 students for autumn 2024." (FT)
UATX has sought authorization for an undergraduate program from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board since UATX's was announced in November 2021.
Will UATX have students in an undergraduate program in Fall 2024?
Checking in on this question. UATX claims to welcomed a freshman cohort of 92 students. UATX includes this in their timeline on their website. An image of the first cohort referring to the students as freshman is online.
