On 17 Nov 2023 the board of directors of OpenAI fired Sam Altman as CEO and demoted the board's chairman Greg Brockman, who quit shortly thereafter.

OpenAI has a unique governance structure with an independent board of directors.

Who will be the members of OpenAI's board of directors one year after the removal of Sam Altman as CEO?

This question does resolves to all the named individuals who are on the board of directors of OpenAI the Monday morning 18 Nov 2024 (9am PST), or resolves to "no one" if for whatever reason OpenAI has no board of directors or there are no members on the board. Named individuals who are non-voting observers count as "members" who are "on" the board for the purposes of this question.

OpenAI lists the members of its board of directors publicly at the bottom of its "Our structure" page on their website.

OpenAI announces on Twitter and their website that Paul Nakasone will join the board of directors.

probably aimed at gov contracts

If he's ousted again, does the market update its endpoint?

@JiSK The resolve date of 18 Nov 2024 will remain unaffected if Altman is ousted again.

Ilya Sutskever officially leaving OpenAI (@ilyasut, @sama).

Playing Devil’s advocate here, this market was particularly bad at predicting the three new non-Altman board members. 73 people traded - should more of them have made suggestions? Is this type of question about who a company will select especially idiosyncratic for forecasters because it’s so relationship driven?

@MarkHamill imho the main problem is the option space is practically endless.

It happened again lol

The Information:

"In a surprise move, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is rejoining the board of directors of the non profit that oversees the artificial intelligence developer, according to a person knowledgeable about the situation."

"Also on Friday, OpenAI was getting ready to announce the appointment of three new directors: Sue Desmond-Hellmann, a former CEO of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; Nicole Seligman, a former president of Sony Entertainment; and Fidji Simo, CEO of Instacart."

You guys are all sleeping on Adam Daan Jello 😅

Please note that I have updated the question description to clarify that named individuals who are non-voting observers count as being "on" the board (as per a response to a question about the 1 Jan 2024 version of this question).

Bret Taylor:
"Before taking on this responsibility, I had a full plate of commitments. As I have communicated to board colleagues and management, when these transitional tasks have been completed, I intend to step away and leave the oversight of OpenAI in the good hands of board colleagues."

I just thought to make this question, but saw you already made it! Good job!
