I have had this laptop about 5 years now and used it intensely for the entire time.

I'm a deep learning software engineer, so I train and run various ML models on it daily and recently it's been crashing multiple times a day, with no indication of software errors in syslog, only ^@ bytes, which are generally indicative of a low level hardware issue.

If I can boot it normally, and run cuda pytorch code on it until the end of the year this will resolve yes. If it starts experiencing issues before then this will resolve no.

Please let me know if any more clarification is needed.

[Unless I really have to, I am going to try to avoid installing software updates or doing anything too intense to it.]
