The Australian federal government is due to release its 2026-27 Budget on May 12, 2026.
This markets resolves YES if the budget includes new measures which subsidise demand for fuel.
Measures must not have been in place in the 2025-26 Budget.
This includes reduction of the fuel excise, or other fuel-specific taxes.
General subsidies or tax cuts (eg income tax cuts) do NOT count. Must be for fuel specifically
Partial subsidies count - eg fuel discounts for low income earners or Centrelink payment recipients
Supply subsidies (eg import restrictions, funding for domestic oil producers, quality standards reductions) do NOT count
I will not bet on this market.
