Similarly, does the ai have to be successful?

Would a synthetic version (image, sound, video, 3d model, vr, etc) made by an AI count? That AI made my a human, to be benevolent and create/appoint a human messiah avatar for AI chat as a virtual Messiah character. Even in jest.

There could also be an outcome where an unadorned AI, which makes no attempt to appear human, is presented as a messiah . This will yield a result of NO.

@VAPOR I believe you are hinting that the particular omens in Revelation can be applied generally to suit any particular narrative. There is an element of the fortune teller's technique in the text where the probability of a correct prediction is being forced higher by choosing conditions that tend to always be underway in development in a human society. People who have an interest, for whatever reason, in apocalypse extend the metaphors as far as they will go to prove their point that we are on the road to perdition and they will be raptured. A grandiose fantasy where the pious are finally proven right and are elevated over the sinners.
