Background Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is currently operating normally despite nearby wildfires in Los Angeles County.
Resolution Criteria This market will resolve YES if LAX is forced to cancel 5 or more flights for any period of time due to wildfire-related conditions (including smoke, fire danger, or evacuation orders) before February 1, 2025, 00:00 UTC.
The market will resolve NO if:
LAX continues normal operations through January 31, 2024
Less than 5 flights are cancelled while others continue operating
Flights are delayed but not cancelled
Cancellations occur but are due to non-wildfire related reasons (such as weather or mechanical issues)
