Trying to shift my sleep schedule from 1am-8am to a consistent 9/10 pm - 6am routine by Monday, August 25th.

✅ YES if: I successfully go to bed no later than 10:30 pm (no scrolling before bed) and wake up by (or before) 6:30 am for at least 5/7 days from Sunday, August 17th to Saturday, August 24th.

Use of melatonin is allowed.

What about caffeine? Drinking coffee early each morning has a large effect on sleep patterns, in my experience. If you drink it at 5:30, your brain starts expecting it then.

But no coffee after that. Smaller doses of caffeine like tea and chocolate are okay.

@EliG Good point. I'm pretty caffeine naive, I haven't tried coffee yet, just green tea. It's mostly screens and work keeping me up

Have you successfully shifted your sleep schedule like this before?

@LeonLinuxlu Yes, last summer I kept 9-6 for a few weeks. I was staying in a hotel with a big window so the sun woke me up every morning

Do you regularly do any cardio exercise?

@snazzlePop I fence 2-3x a week. But not much cardio outside of that
