During the post-match ceremony of each AFL Grand Final, the Norm Smith Medal is awarded to the player judged best on ground by a panel of Australian rules football experts.
This is a free response market that will resolve to the player who is presented the 2023 Norm Smith Medal. Traders may submit the name of any player whose team might advance to the 2023 AFL Grand Final.
At the time of market creation, four clubs (Collingwood; Brisbane Lions; Carlton; GWS Giants) and their respective playing lists remain in contention to feature in the Grand Final.
Although the Norm Smith Medal is usually awarded to a player on the winning team, every participating player from each competing club will be eligible to receive votes, regardless of the result.
It is not possible for the medal to be won by multiple players. Should the medal be presented to a player who is not listed as an option in this market when trading halts, the market will resolve to Other.

@NGK Unfortunately the scriptwriters have been building this story for Collingwood since March last year. Ain’t no way Brisbane get up on the 4th
Change to the resolution criteria:
I previously stated that the market would resolve N/A if the medal were won by a player not listed. This seemed logical to me at the time as I didn't realise that a built-in 'Other' option would be added automatically once the first bet was placed.
As there is now an Other option, it seems far more reasonable that the market would resolve to Other in the case of an unlisted player receiving the award. I have updated the market description to reflect this change.
