This resolves YES if the Tomatometer score is 60% or higher, one week after release (August 9th).
Details
I will use whatever precision is listed by Rotten Tomatoes (typically an integer percentage, no decimal).
For example, here are the equivalent RT scores for some recent M. Night Shyamalan films:
The "Fresh" designation in the title is just used for illustrative purposes, it won't resolve the market (AFAIK, movies >=60% are "Fresh", but there may be other restrictions).
Currently, the close date is set for resolution. If there's sufficient interest & a clear review embargo date is set, I might upgrade this to "Plus" and set the close date to be the review embargo—so perhaps don't bet if you're concerned that the close date might shift up.
@traders resolves NO, with 54%. not good! i had a blast, people need to meet M. Night on his terms imo. Next, bet on ALIEN: ROMULUS' box office opening. It should take the #1 spot from Deadpool.
@Ziddletwix have you gone to see it yet? The reviews seem kind of meh. I was hoping for it to be more than just a way to promote his daughter 😂
I've heard it's kind of like a hitman(the game) movie and is self aware so I'll still consider seeing it
not yet! was going to go tonight but my car is having a bit of trouble so might end up waiting til tuesday or so.
but yeah shyamalan movies almost always get divisive audience reactions, they're always a bit strange. this seems in line with most—critical reaction divided, some love it & some are really out on it, and audiences seem to feel about the same way. so about expectation for this sort of movie
@traders Related market: can it open above $20 million? CinemaScore?
