Letterboxd pages:

On April 1st (one month after the release of Dune: Part Two), I will check these pages. If Dune: Part Two has a higher user rating displayed when I check, this resolves YES. Otherwise it resolves NO.

Details:

  • For reference, as of the time of writing Dune (2020) displays a rating of 3.9 (out of 5 stars), although I'll use whatever score I find on April 1st.

  • Ties: If the displayed rating shows a tie (i.e. both show 3.9), I will attempt to resolve the tie by mousing over the scores, and using the extra decimal shown there (i.e. currently mousing over the Dune score shows "weighted average of 3.89"). If they're still tied, I will resolve NO (I won't try to compute the ratings with any further precision than what they display). If I can't find the second decimal by mousing over the score (e.g. if they change this behavior), then I'll just use original displayed value (and again resolve NO in case of a tie).

  • For reference, the Letterboxd rating is similar to the IMDB rating (I just vastly prefer the functionality of the site), although it's out of 5 stars, not 10.

  • If any aspects of resolution are unclear, please ask.
