Resolution criteria
This market will resolve to Yes if and only if both of the following conditions are met:
Rays Division Lead: At the end of the day on July 31, 2026, the Tampa Bay Rays must lead the American League East (AL East) division by strictly more than 3.0 games in the official MLB standings.
In MLB standings, this means the second-place team in the AL East must be 3.5 or more games back (GB) behind the Rays at the close of all MLB games played on July 31, 2026. A lead of exactly 3.0 games or fewer will not satisfy this condition.
Yankees Trade: The New York Yankees must officially trade for a player who has been selected to at least one career MLB All-Star Game (including the 2026 All-Star Game or any prior year) on or before July 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET.
The trade must be officially announced or confirmed by MLB.com or reputable sports journalists (e.g., Jeff Passan, Ken Rosenthal) within the specified timeframe.
Eligible players must have been named to an AL or NL All-Star roster at any point in their MLB career prior to or at the time of the transaction.
Free-agent signings or waiver wire acquisitions do not qualify as trades.
If either of these conditions is not met, the market will resolve to No.
Note that the official 2026 MLB Trade Deadline is Monday, August 3, 2026, at 6:00 PM ET. However, for the purposes of this market, only trades finalized on or before July 31, 2026 will count. Trades occurring on August 1, 2, or 3 will not qualify.

Background
As of early July 2026, the Tampa Bay Rays lead the AL East division, with the New York Yankees trailing closely in second place by roughly 4.0 to 5.0 games. The 2026 MLB All-Star Game rosters were announced on July 5, 2026, with the midsummer classic scheduled for July 14, 2026, at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
While teams have until Monday, August 3, 2026, to finalize trades for the remainder of the season, this market places a stricter deadline of July 31, 2026, on both the division standings and any potential Yankees roster moves.
