Resolution criteria
The market resolves based on the arcs that the Netflix live-action One Piece series covers before cancellation or conclusion. Season 1 covered the East Blue Saga, and Season 2 (released March 10, 2026) covers Loguetown through the Drum Island Arc. Resolution will be determined by the highest arc/saga completed and aired on Netflix.
After two seasons, the live-action adaptation has covered 154 chapters of the original manga, representing roughly 13% of the total story. Creator Eiichiro Oda has confirmed that the live-action version has an intended endpoint.
Confirmed Seasons: As of March 2026, Netflix has officially released Season 2 (premiered March 10, 2026) and confirmed Season 3.
The 12-Season Vision: Producers Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements originally expressed hope for a 12-season run to fully adapt Eiichiro Oda's massive story. At the current production pace, this could take 15 to 20 years to complete.
Oda's Target: Creator Eiichiro Oda has reportedly shared a specific "end target" or arc with the cast and crew. While he hasn't publicly named the arc, actor Mackenyu (Zoro) mentioned that Oda has a "vision" for where he wants the live-action to go, which has hyped up the team.
Season 3 went into production in November 2025, ahead of the second season's premiere. As of recent updates, Season 3 is two months into filming and mostly cast. The production timeline between seasons has accelerated compared to the 2.5-year gap between Seasons 1 and 2, suggesting faster release cycles going forward.
