In 2018 Saudi crown prince announced a new half a trillion dollars project called NEOM, one of it's biggest project is linear city The Line.

A linear smart city construction in Saudi Arabia in Neom, Tabuk Province, which is designed to have no cars, streets or carbon emissions.

The Line is planned to be the first development of a $500 billion project in Neom. The city's plans anticipated a population of 9 million (25% of Saudi Arabia's then population of 35.5 million) and were later scaled down to 300,000 people. Originally intended to be 170km long by 2030, it now aims for to 2.4km to be completed by then.
