"When I mentioned Artificial Intelligence in my General Assembly speech in 2017, only two other leaders even uttered the term. Now AI is on everyone's lips – a subject of both awe, and fear. Even some of those who developed generative AI are calling for greater regulation." - Secretary-General António Guterres, 2023 UNGA debate session

At the General Debate of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in September 2024, which countries will mention artificial intelligence in their speeches?

If any country does not present a speech, for whatever reason (including the session being cancelled, the country ceasing to exist or being expelled from the UN, etc), the option for that country will resolve No.

The speech must make reference to AI or artificial intelligence, not necessarily using that particular acronym or phrase. If a speech mentions "machine intelligence" or "AGI", or any AI systems or types, it will resolve Yes.

I will not bet on this market.
