I'm not sure goals in these games would have counted anyway, but now that the China tour has been officially cancelled I think I am good to resolve this for 2023 as there will be no further opportunities for Messi to score goals for Inter Miami. Thoughts?

Lionel Messi will not become Inter Miami's all-time top goalscorer in 2023. Yesterday, Saturday 21 October was the last game for Inter Miami of the season, losing against Charlotte by 1-0.  Messi in 14 games scored 11 goals, having a ratio of 0.79 goals per game. The all-time top scorer is his Argentinian Friend Gonzalo Higuain with 29 goals in 70 games. So far, Lionel Messi is the player with the highest goal/game ratio in history, however, he will not become the top scorer of the team by 2023. I believe he will exceed 29 goals by next year. 

Do the upcoming matches in China count towards this total? Not that he’ll score like 10+ goals in 2 matches but just curious.

This can resolve to NO.

Messi needs to score 18 goals in the next two games in order to reach this goal and he is likely also not going to play because he is injured.
