It's tough having comparatively /long/ timelines now and thinking that there's a less than 50% change we will see widespread diffusion of AI developed gene edits prior to MAR2028. In worlds where we have significant progress in AI capabilities we are spending our compute on biotech alongside and free diffusion of said technology by MAR2028, I imagine we are quite often all dead soon after.
Maybe in the median world we'll get this by the time we're either all old and decrepit or curly steel in 2031.

@Tux I personally think we’ll see a mass rise of general bio knowledge in the global populace.
Things that fundamentally write the code of life will be as easily taught as learning the difference between an animal cell and a plants.
Along side such knowledge will the already widely available and affordable tech for modifying life allow general changes in even your own bodily functions be common place.
Even if minor, the common small changes will allow the bigger changes to be as widespread as a common surgery.
An ultimate change in the very functions of our culture, well being, and general way of life.
