I know almost nothing about football, but I feel it is incumbent upon me to create a market for what I understand to be an unusual event.

So, will Hearts win the current football thingy?

@Fion vaguely aware you might be local-ish, in case you have insight here...

@Tomoffer haha, I am local ish, and I can confirm that hearts are a football team, but beyond that I have nothing to contribute. 😂

@Tomoffer if you're just generally looking for a local perspective, yes this is definitely a huge fixture. one of either 'old firm' teams, celtic and rangers have won the title every year since 1985. if hearts can win or draw today, they will break this pattern.

if celtic do concede the title, it will be the capstone on a very shaky a weak season for us (im a celts fan). celtic and rangers have both had multiple managers resign or be sacked and it's been all round an embarrassing season for both clubs. to end on a loss and to lose the league would be a major defeat.

there are also cultural connotations to the match. in the old firm, celtic is seen as irish/rebel/antifa where rangers is native/loyalist/right wing. Hearts is like the equivalent of rangers culturally but for the next city over. so you can see today's match as important in a 'culture war', in terms of left vs right, or immigrant vs native. it's certainly heated stuff and the game today will have the city of Glasgow on edge. if I was into darker stuff and wanted to make a market, it would be whether there is a stabbing in Glasgow before the end of today that is linked to this football game. sadly the city the game is happening in has a history of sectarian violence over football
