Manifold is making some pretty big changes to the platform, and I'm wondering how everyone feels about the idea. I'm pretty optimistic about the platform, but do have some concerns regarding how age restrictions will work since this platform starts to dabble more in real money. I hope they find a happy medium for both for adults, and teens like me. Leave a comment on why you chose what.
For the company it’s definitely a positive, they were going to run out of money unless they made big changes like this. DAUs had stagnated, and there wasn’t a clear path to monetization. Real money bets give the company a much brighter future (assuming they get the legal stuff figured out)
But for me personally it’s a pretty big negative. I liked that mana didn’t matter, it kept things friendly but competitive. I was working on some guides on how to build bots and trade profitably, but if real money is at stake, I’m not sure if I’ll release them since I’ll lose my advantage. But I don’t like that dynamic, it’s why I came to manifold instead of polymarket or the stock market.
