This will resolve by taking the median grant size by charity of the charities that got grants from Project for Awesome 2027, and then doubling it. If any EA charity gets a grant greater than this number, resolves YES; otherwise, resolves no.

As a worked example for a hypothetical distribution:

Say there are 5 charities that receive grants, and they get $10k, $10k, $10k, $10k and $50k respectively. Then the median grant is $10k, so twice the median grant is $20k. The charity that got $50k would have got more than twice the median grant.

Past grants from Project for Awesome are listed here: https://fightworldsuck.org/#Grants. A charity is EA for the purposes of this question if it is a givewell top charity, or was evaluated by animal charity evaluators, or is recommended by GWWC, or is working on avoiding extinction from AGI, or is manually adjudicated by me as obviously in the intension of this category.

"get a grant more than twice the median grant"?

@EliG I mean it in this sense: Say there are 5 charities, and they get $10k, $10k, $10k, $10k and $50k respectively. Then the median grant is $10k, so twice the median grant is $20k. The charity that got $50k would have got more than twice the median grant.

@Tetraspace For example, in 2026, the median grant was $44,000. So the two charities Save the Children and Partners in Health, which got $932,237.73, would be considered to have got more than twice the median grant. Neither of those are "EA charities" in the sense being used for this question, so for 2026 an equivalent question would have resolved NO.
