If SBF does take the stand, anyone who has his best interests in mind should turn around and fire his lawyers for letting him do it
@day2f He’s got nothing to lose. If he doesn’t do it, he’s going to jail for a very long time, so why not? He has had an amazing talent for convincing people, so there’s a chance it helps.
@thecusp All I can think of is the first line of his leaked testimonial “I fucked up” which was wholly inappropriate. I think he’ll definitely say something he shouldn’t if he does testify, and his legal team knows it. Odds are he makes it worse for himself. I’m betting on Sam being smart enough to take the advice of his legal team and not testify, which I’m sure is their position.
@NicoDelon I didn’t hear that in the most recent ep on YouTube. Edit: I just heard Matt Levine, not Michael Lewis, say he “assumes he will” in another episode.
@day2f Levine also said that. Lewis said it but not in the latest episode. That was two or three episodes back I think.
@NicoDelon This was in ‘Catching up with Michael Lewis. Week 2.’
"Yeah, oh, yeah he is. I asked his PR person just to confirm this, like a week ago. Is he still going to take the stand? And he said, does a bear shit in the woods?"
@Ernie Haha, I’d bet on his lawyers having told him NOT to testify, or strongly advised against it. My original statement there was meant to be a bit tongue in cheek given what we know of his recent history with public statements, “I fucked up”
