They are priced like a growth stock, but they have been stagnant for 4 years.

I think so yes, particularly in Europe. But it will probably be hard to demonstrate causality once we're in the future. Tesla may still succeed but be less successful than what could have been if Elon hadn't expressed his fear and hatred of muslims and transsexuality etc

But I think the thing that hurts Tesla the most isn't Musk existing his obsessive fixation with certain minorities, it's his explicit support for AfD, Tommy Robinson and the like. That really damages Tesla's brand.

Nobody is buying a Tesla anymore because they think it signals that they "have money and are environmentally aware" or whatever. Now people are hesitant to buy a Tesla because they are concerned other people could perceive them to be aligned with fascist ideologies.

This is not a great outcome for Tesla's brand

If there are many instances where people start drawing swastikas on all the Teslas they find parked at night as a form of protest then that could be more directly linked to a drop in sales. But for now that depends on whether Musk goes deeper into his very public radicalisation or not 🤷

Of the people who take this sort of thing into account, I think Musk drove them away years ago.

Say that PETA puts out yet another video showing how horrific the meat industry is. How many people will buy less meat because of it? The people who care have, for the most part, already shifted.

Not sure that his political views and Tesla profits are linked that much. As someone in germany, Teslas are still the best electric cars available in Europe

@RichardKnoche Yes, the premise is a bit presumptive, given the resolution criteria.
