Will resolve to the closest conclusion based on my judgement.
Resolution criteria
This market resolves based on the final trial court disposition of Jane Doe v. Steven Bonnell II, Case No. 1:25-cv-20757-JB, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. The docket and official court filings can be tracked via CourtListener.
The respective outcomes are defined as follows:
Parties reach a private out-of-court settlement: Resolves to YES if the court dismisses the case following a joint stipulation of dismissal or notice of settlement prior to the official start of a trial (e.g., before jury selection begins).
Jury finds in favor of Pxie, awarding damages: Resolves to YES if the case goes to trial, is decided by a jury, and the jury verdict finds the defendant liable, awarding any monetary damages to the plaintiff.
Jury finds in favor of Destiny, awarding no damages: Resolves to YES if the case goes to trial, is decided by a jury, and the jury verdict finds the defendant not liable (or liable but awards $0.00 in damages).
Case proceeds to trial but settles during proceedings: Resolves to YES if a trial officially begins (e.g., jury selection has commenced) but the parties reach a settlement and the case is dismissed by agreement before a jury verdict is rendered.
Court grants summary judgment in favor of Pxie: Resolves to YES if the presiding judge grants a motion for summary judgment on the issue of liability in favor of the plaintiff (Jane Doe / Pxie) on any substantive claims, ending the liability portion of the case without proceeding to trial on those claims.
Court grants summary judgment in favor of Destiny: Resolves to YES if the presiding judge grants a motion for summary judgment in favor of the defendant (Steven Bonnell II / Destiny), dismissing all of the plaintiff's claims with prejudice before trial.
Case is dropped or voluntarily dismissed by Pxie: Resolves to YES if the plaintiff files a notice of voluntary dismissal without a joint settlement agreement, or if the case is dismissed by the court for failure to prosecute, without a settlement or trial.
Notes:
Any subsequent appeals of a jury verdict or summary judgment ruling will not delay resolution; this market will resolve based on the initial final trial court ruling or disposition.
If the case is dismissed via a motion to dismiss rather than summary judgment, it will be categorized under "Case is dropped or voluntarily dismissed by Pxie" if she does not amend, or resolved at the creator's discretion based on which option most closely matches the legal mechanism of dismissal.
Background
In February 2025, Twitch streamer Pxie (filing under the pseudonym Jane Doe) filed a federal civil lawsuit against political commentator and live streamer Steven Kenneth Bonnell II (known online as "Destiny"). The lawsuit, Jane Doe v. Steven Bonnell II (Case No. 1:25-cv-20757-JB), is pending in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
The complaint alleges violations of the federal Intimate Image Protection Act and Florida's cyber sexual harassment statute, claiming Bonnell shared explicit video of her without her consent. Bonnell has denied the allegations, asserting that he did not intentionally leak the material and that the plaintiff has engaged in the spoliation of evidence. The case is in active litigation with motions for summary judgment under consideration.
