Recently the USDA has approved the sale of cultured meat by GOOD Meat and UPSIDE foods. This approval is currently only for chicken.

This poll will resolve when the USDA clears cell cultured meat of any species other than chicken for sale to US consumers by any company/s.

If multiple species of meat are cleared at the same time then the question will resolve to all of the species cleared. I have grouped all seafood under one category, any type of seafood approved will result in a resolution to seafood.

Why not cultured eggs? Seems like that would be easier since it's just goop.

@Snarflak But it's two types of goop. White, bland goop for body builders and yellow, amazing goop for gluttons.

@Enlil Either type of goop seems easier to produce. It's just a homogenous substance produced by cells, no? No need for exercising muscle cells, or scaffolding to provide structure, or marbling of fat vs muscle, or any of that. Just grow the cells from the chicken that produce the goop and harvest the goop?

@Snarflak Do you actually need to exercise the muscle tissue? I expected that you can just take a muscle cell and grow it. Won't be a nicely marbled steak, but a steak nonetheless. I'm not an expert on any of this though.
