Background
Many, including myself, have expressed concern over Adam, the creator of Poe (a ChatGPT wrapper/replica), also serving on the board of OpenAI. This dual role seemed to present a significant conflict of interest, leading to doubts about Adam’s motivations. Despite these concerns, Adam remains on the board, suggesting that our initial conclusions may have been premature. I am curious to see if Sam will make any public statements, such as tweets, retweets, or likes, that aim to vindicate Adam.
Resolution Criteria
1. Defining "public positive statement of support": This includes any public statement, tweet, retweet, or 'like' by Sam Altman explicitly affirming Adam's character or intentions. The endorsements should be clearly positive, such as stating Adam has a "good moral compass," "good intentions," or similar sentiments.
2. Time Frame: The market will resolve based on Sam Altman's public actions up to end of this year.
3. Verification Source: The resolution will rely on verifiable public records, such as Sam Altman's verified social media accounts and credible news sources.
Enough for a YES @Soli?
Adam has always been very clear with me and the Board about the potential conflict and doing whatever he needed to do (recusing himself when appropriate and even offering to leave the Board if we ever thought it was necessary) to appropriately manage this situation and to avoid conflicted decision-making
@jacksonpolack Altman said he did "whatever he needed to do... to appropriately manage the situation."
Sounds positive to me.
@jacksonpolack "good moral compass," handling the situation "appropriately" same thing, basically.
@jacksonpolack the resolution criteria clearly states:
“Defining "public positive statement of support": This includes any public statement, tweet, retweet, or 'like' by Sam Altman explicitly affirming Adam's character or intentions.
The statement by Sam explicitly affirms Adam’s intentions
