Resolution criteria
This market will resolve based on the results of a poll conducted on Manifold Markets by the market creator. The poll, explicitly linked within this market's comments section before its resolution date, will ask "Do you support pineapple on pizza?". If more than 50% of the votes are "Yes," this market will resolve to YES. Otherwise, it will resolve to NO. The poll must be open for at least 72 hours and have a minimum of 50 unique votes to be considered valid. If these conditions are not met, or if the poll results in an exact 50/50 split, the market will resolve to N/A.
Background
Hawaiian pizza, topped with pineapple and ham or bacon, was invented in 1962 by Sam Panopoulos, a Greek-born Canadian, at the Satellite Restaurant in Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada. Panopoulos's inspiration came from his experience preparing Canadian Chinese dishes, which often combine sweet and sour flavors. The name "Hawaiian" was chosen simply because of the brand of canned pineapple he used, not due to any direct connection to the U.S. state of Hawaii. Despite its global prevalence, pineapple on pizza remains one of the most polarizing food topics, often sparking passionate debate among diners.
