I'm moving out of my current place in the castro at the end of this month, traveling for a while, and then want to be in a new place in September.
Some details about me that you can send people. Generally looking for somewhere around alamo square / lower haight
This is my first bountied question idk the best way to divide rewards, but generally I aim to reward people who give me leads or advice that is more helpful that what I would've accomplished by myself otherwise.

Aug 31 update: I did kinda find a place at a group house in the mission before I went on vacation, but it wasn't for certain, and now I've learned that the earliest I could move in is Sept 15. Currently crashing with friends. So I'm going to keep this open.

Update: I ended up finding a place mid-september because Anton randomly asked me after some manifold event. Other people who tried to help me mostly did not succeed.
Have you thought about trying short term furnished rentals (off Craigslist, Facebook, FurnishedFinders, etc if you want to avoid the 17% fee to AirBnB) and trying out different locations in a low risk fashion?
I'm currently on location 1 - we've spent a month and a half here so far and will be moving out in 1 more month. It's been super useful for figuring out if we like the area we're in.
May I suggest living in a suburb? If the mainstream media is to be believed, San Francisco has been rapidly deteriorating, much more so compared to other big cities, so it might not be a good idea to stay there all the time. Plus, suburbs are nice, and often much less hectic than city centers. (I live in a suburb of Boston and like it that way!) Furthermore, the Bay Area has the BART, so commuting shouldn't be too much of an issue even if you don't have a car or bike or whatever.
