I think these can all resolve No.

@AndrewHebb Technically the Manifold team could do a double reversal and bring Sweepstakes back again before the end of the year, right? (Though it's pretty unlikely.)

@traders Given that this seems very unlikely, this market no longer has much utility. Therefore, I have decided to resolve it. In the unlikely case that sweepstakes are brought back, I will ask the mods to unresolve it.

@traders Sorry, I forgot about this market!

The resolution has been complicated by ambiguity in the rules. While sweepstakes are technically distinct from prize points, they can also be considered a new iteration of the prize point idea. Given this, I've made the following decisions:

  • The market rules have been amended to include sweepstakes.

  • For the US market, I've resolved it as YES. However, due to the initial rule ambiguity, I've also sent payouts via managram to all NO position holders.

  • I've taken screenshots of current positions. If other countries introduce sweepstakes, I will similarly compensate all original NO position holders.

@Simon74fe in the case where PP cannot be withdrawn as cash, but there's some separate cash system implemented, how does this resolve?

If it's still somewhat similar, i.e., there is a way to trade your mana around and eventually withdraw cash, it will still resolve YES.
If it's something very different, e.g., a regulated sportsbook where you can only trade on sports and with a completely separate balance, it will resolve NO.

@Simon74fe was this meant to close? and what's the ruling on how it played out? because it IS a completely separate balance, prize points are gone and mana and sweepcash are totally disconnected. but it's also meant to be the spiritual successor to what PP were intended to be
