Resolution Criteria
This market will resolve to "Yes" if Bitcoin's market dominance falls to 62% or lower at any point before May 31, 2025. Bitcoin dominance is defined as the percentage of Bitcoin's market capitalization relative to the total cryptocurrency market capitalization. The primary source for verification will be CoinMarketCap's Bitcoin Dominance Chart: https://coinmarketcap.com/charts/bitcoin-dominance/. If the dominance does not reach 62% or lower by the specified date, the market will resolve to "No."
Background
As of May 27, 2025, Bitcoin's dominance stands at approximately 64.4%, according to Newhedge's Bitcoin Live Dashboard. (newhedge.io) This represents a significant increase from previous years; for instance, in April 2025, Bitcoin's dominance was around 63.8%, nearing levels last seen in January 2021. (bitbo.io) The rise in dominance has been attributed to factors such as increased institutional investment and the relative underperformance of altcoins. (coindesk.com)
