I bet up Thomas because I think he’s the most conservative justice on the court, and if he’s part of an overwhelming majority ruling against Trump, he would be a good candidate to write the opinion in order to reinforce the sense of a bipartisan rejection of Trump’s side in this case.

@Trifalcon If he were trying to make it clear that he's rejecting Trump's side, he wouldn't have voted to grant certiorari, especially after waiting so long. He's specifically working to help Trump's side.
