Toronto has had cargo bikes making deliveries for Fedex and Purolator for years now. They're able to use the bike infrastructure and park more easily than full delivery vans. In the next two years, will I see a news story in a major news outlet complaining about these delivery vehicles using bike infrastructure?
General complaints about these vehicles do not count. I am only considering complaints about their use of bike infrastructure, such as bike lanes and bike parking.
Major news outlets include:
- The Toronto Star
- National Post
- The Globe and Mail
- Global News
- CTV
- The Globe and Mail
By cargo bike, I am using this Ontario web-page for their requirements:
https://www.ontario.ca/page/cargo-e-bike-pilot-program
If the requirements for that page change to accommodate quadricycles or vehicles without pedals, I will consider them as valid delivery vehicles for complaints.
Still new on this site so I'm not sure if you're asking me simply to vote or if you want me to explain my opinion. Since I love giving my opinion I'll do both 😂
In my ideal Toronto it would be much more difficult to own and use cars and trucks. I would like to see most of the street given over to public transit and all different forms of lightweight, non fossil fuel powered vehicles. In fact, I sometimes even wonder if we should give up on public transit altogether and create a system where everyone has instant access or ownership to some sort of micro Mobility. Alongside that, I would imagine very few full size vehicles and the full size vehicles that did use the roads would have very limited speed limits.
