Context: We dated for a few months several years ago. I ended the relationship, and they made several attempts to reconnect in the period afterward, but we have not spoken in a long time. I’m considering sending an apology and asking whether they would be open to catching up.
This market resolves to the option that, in my judgement, most closely describes the overall outcome within 21 days of my first contact attempt. If I don't reach out to my ex by the end of August 6 (a week from market creation), resolves to No contact attempt.
@traders Updates from our date:
We did not get back together today.
We went on a walk for about an hour and a half.
We held hands during the walk.
They said they need more time before we get back together.
We kissed at the end (they initiated it).
We did not schedule another meetup, and they are moving away in a week.
@Parallax are 'Romantic reconciliation' and "Positive continued contact' mutually exclusive? I guess, in the spirit of the question maybe Yes, as in, we would assume 'positive continued contact' to be 'maintaining some kind of amicable platonic relationship' but then...there is enough ambiguity I think for a resolution for both cases. I fail to see how a 'Romantic reconciliation' would not also count as 'positive continued contact'.
@PlutoGaming Perhaps one last hurrah (ONS) before the ex moves away in a week could be romantic reconciliation without positive continued contact?
Also, this market ends based on what Parallax feels in 12 days.
@traders Updates from the big day:
We met at a café for an hour and a half.
We both had a good time.
They are open to romantic reconciliation...
...but only if we take things slow.
We hugged at the end, and they initiated it.
I am trying to get a date scheduled soon.
@traders Okay, a few updates:
We are meeting for coffee on Thursday.
My ex's responses have been friendly so far.
Nothing romantic has been discussed yet.
My ex is moving away in two weeks.
@Chimpy After I sent the message, my ex welcomed hearing from me and was open to talking. I proposed meeting at a restaurant on Sunday, but my ex was unavailable and proposed meeting at a café on Thursday instead.
@Parallax misread as “I just massaged my ex”. Thankfully caught my error before betting all of my manna on romantic reconciliation.
@traders Update: It turns out my ex has a dating profile, because I ran into it today. Definitely a weird mix of emotions to be reading that. It's probably good news for this market overall, because it means my ex is still in my geographic area and open to a serious relationship. However, I saw my ex in Standouts, which is part of the app for profiles receiving a lot of attention, which might mean they have more dating options.
I also learned that there may now be a major compatibility issue between us. I still think I'll send my ex a message soon. The uncertainty has been weighing on me pretty heavily.
Anyway, thought I'd give you all an update.
@Parallax Hang in there. I can't promise the same, but I've married my wife, divorced, and married her again. Statistically, we're in the minority. Also, I believe in a creator and if not your ex, I believe there is a better option for you. Jeremiah 33:3 🚀 is a promise for each and every human. I tell people that our beagle can't participate. 🤔🦋
@Web3ICP Thanks for the encouragement! I really hope this works out and I am able to get back together with my ex. I know I can't make my whole romantic future dependent on my ex, since whether we get back together isn't fully my choice.
@Parallax What I shared is really true. Here's the NKJV translation: Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things which you do not know. Jeremiah 33:3 ⚜️ I've been blown away by what I got back from praying sometimes. And, we don't always see what greater possibilities there are in front of us or around the corner. Have an awesome weekend! 🌞 🌴🌻🎵
