Will resolve to YES if any song listed on Billboard Hot 100 (https://www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100/) before 2026 is known to be written by AI. The music could be performed by a human or AI-generated, what counts is whether the main melody is composed by an AI.

Will resolve to NO if there is no reliable reports of any songs being composed by AI.

Will resolve to N/A if there's a significant controversy (e.g. copyright lawsuit) regarding whether a song is written by an AI or a human.

To my knowledge there were a few AI songs that came close, but none was actually included in the Hot 100, so I'm resolving as no.

Billboard is also reporting Xavia Monet used Suno to generate songs that have been on the Hot Gospel Songs chart, and Hot R&B chart.

The Hot 100 has this info box:

THE WEEK’S MOST POPULAR CURRENT SONGS ACROSS ALL GENRES, RANKED BY STREAMING ACTIVITY DATA BY ONLINE MUSIC SOURCES TRACKED BY LUMINATE, RADIO AIRPLAY AUDIENCE IMPRESSIONS AS MEASURED BY MEDIABASE AND PROVIDED BY LUMINATE AND SALES DATA AS COMPILED BY LUMINATE.

So the fact that we are seeing AI artists on both airplay charts and digital sales charts are both relevant, but only 2 months of the year means that there's not much time.

This is going to be very close. There is a song by Xania Monet charting on other Billboard charts this week.

It's going to be a race between the shutdown of the AI music platforms and whether this "artist" can gain enough streams or radio airplay to move from the smaller charts to the lower ranks of the Hot 100.
