Nadine Dorries said she resigned "with immediate effect" as MP for Mid Beds on June 9th. At time of writing, she has not yet begun that process. Her local council have asked her to get on with it. So, will Nadine Dorries have formally resigned from Parliament by the end of August?
Resolves YES if Dorries is officially resigned by market close.
Resolves YES if there are credible reports in the mainstream media (main websites / TV / newspaper only, not journo Twitter) of her having submitted her resignation but the process still being underway at market close.

I’ve flipped. I don’t think she’s going. You don’t put out this statement if you’re quitting next week. She’ll be there until they force her out. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/aug/23/senior-tory-caroline-nokes-calls-for-whip-to-be-removed-from-nadine-dorries
My thinking: this is very close. Party conference is the 1st to 4th of October. If she wants a by-election in the days before conference, to cause a stir, the election would most likely be on Thursday 28th September. Assuming 28 days to process the election, she would need to hand her notice in around the 28th of August. But if she’s not aiming to upset conference then she might drag it out even further!
@Noit She has a book out on the 28th of September: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Plot-Political-Assassination-Boris-Johnson/dp/0008623422. I'm not sure if her still being an MP is a good thing or bad thing for this.
@nicwest06d6 Oof, that could mean she resigns then or a day or two before so she’s got headlines around launch day.
