Looks like this was never really in doubt, which you wouldn’t have thought from the media!
If you still think there’s a longer-term risk to Hoyle’s career then you’re probably best off being on whether or not he’ll keep his Chorley seat at the next election. The speaker traditionally stands unopposed by the main parties, but if he’s upset enough people then maybe a serious candidate would stand against him?
